- Abstract
Risk factors associated with products, supplies and services related to health and the environment are preventive actions' aim of the Sanitary Surveillance acting in the medicalsanitary practices. The present research had the objective of finding out the applicability of the norms recommended by the Brazilian sanitary legislation in the School Clinic of Dentistry of the Federal University of Campina Grande. The study variables were compliance with biosafety standards, physical design, waste management, and verification of guidelines regarding radiation protection. The research was cross - sectional and observational in nature, where it used an inductive approach with descriptive procedures and direct field research documentation technique. It was verified that some aspects are in accordance with the required by the regulations, but that there are still deficiencies in some items such as: clean and dirty environment flow, dispersion of the processing solutions, inadequacies in the waste management plan and the microbiological test of the autoclave. It is concluded that the Clinical School of Dentistry of the UFCG complies with some aspects of the current sanitary legislation, however, that some regulations should still be considered for the proper functioning of this health care establishment.
