Abstract

The article examines how in which robotic process automation can change operations within accounting profession in the U.S. with a focus on area of revenue audits. It mentions that Robotic process automation (RPA) uses new software tools, such as offered by Blue Prism or UiPath, to transform a handmade audit process into a more assembly-line audit process. It also mentions that RPA is demonstrating its ability to improve business processes and services offered by public accounting firms.
