- Abstract
In the article, the author discusses the role of the Jewish military chaplains at the Bergen Belsen concentration camp under the Western Allied Forces during the closing phase of World War II. The Jewish chaplains worked alongside British and American chaplains like Leslie Hardman, Isaac Levy, and Abraham Klausner at the camp. Also cited are the role of the chaplains to provide spiritual, moral, religious and welfare services, and the spirit of Nazism as embodied in the camps.
