- Abstract
The intervention seeks to focus on the importance of the Palazzo Buonaccorsi enterprise in the corpus of the Roman Giambattista Contini as a synthesis of its background and as a definitive approach to the eighteenth-century novelties in the delicate cultural phase of Arcadia, for which the commissioned extension from the noble family of Macerata offers an interesting input. Giambattista Contini, former protagonist of a monograph by Alessandro del Bufalo (1982), is considered active in the province just for being a minor in the sparkling Rome Berniniana and Borrominiana, which participated since its formative phase thanks to the careful choices of the father. The reconstruction of the relationship with his brother, the abbot Domenico Filippo, better known in musicology as a librettist by Alessandro Scarlatti, with whom he shared the literary and cultural environment, offers an interesting margin of study on the architectural activity of Giovambattista in Macerata.
