- Authors
Finn, Owen A.
- Abstract
The article studies skin coloring in rodent ulcer with special reference to jute-workers. In the present study, the patients with rodent ulcers were divided into "jute-workers" (anyone who had at any time worked in the jute industry), and "non-jute-workers." Two hundred and thirty-six patients with rodent ulcer were classified according to eye coloring and 88 percent were found to be fair. In 74 jute-worker patients with rodent ulcer, 85 percent were fair. The incidence of rodent ulcer in spinners is particularly high and this is presumably related to the carcinogenic effect of mineral oil.
