- Abstract
The article ponders on a February 2005 draft guidance issued by Great Britain's National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) which suggested that cholinesterase inhibitors should not be prescribed on the National Health Service for new Alzheimer's disease patients. It highlights the debate surrounding the draft guidance. It criticizes the cost-effectiveness arguments by NICE concerning anti-dementia drugs. It suggests strategies for clinical trials methodology.
