- Authors
Bloomgarden, Zachary
- Abstract
The author reflects on the role of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors to the renal function. He explains the inhibition of glucose reabsorption from the renal tubular lumen and clarifying their potential benefit and adverse effect on the renal function. The author believes that SGLT-2 inhibitors may be beneficial to individuals with type-2 diabetes (T2D) and early renal disease.
