- Authors
Hultgren, Stephen
- Abstract
The article explores the influence of apostolic church on the order of sayings in the double tradition of Luke's travel narrative. It notes that the order and content of the material has become the more perplexing problems in Lukan scholarship. It states that with respect to content of Luke's travel narrative, there is almost no narrative but it is consist mostly of sayings material. It also indicates that even the term travel narrative does not appropriately apply in the context of the study, and that its designation may be useful for modern scholars than it is an accurate description of Luke's intentions for this part of his work. Further, discussion on several chapters and verses of Luke's gospel narrative are also presented.
