- Abstract
The article presents the case of National Football League (NFL) player Colin Kaepemick, his anti-police brutality protest and his continued NFL free agency. It presents an analysis of laws related to his case, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the New York Executive Law and First Amendment speech protections. Also presented are suggestions for improving the laws for the protection of individuals who experience backlash as a result of their decisions to decry racism.
