- Authors
Creaser, John
- Abstract
This article focuses on several works of English poet John Milton which relate to the phrase "fear of change." In the book "Doctrine and Discipline of Divorce, Milton asserts that those who live by custom indulge the sloth of their own capabilities and it is a sluggish fearfulness to search what is lawfull. Moreover, the book "The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates" explains in part the rapprochement of Milton's opponents while the revolutionary government steered him toward his trial and death.
