- Abstract
Introdução: O tratamento endodôntico de dentes com rizogênese incompleta que apresentam necrose pulpar é a apicificação com o uso do hidróxido de cálcio onde impulsiona a formação de uma barreira calcificada no ápice que é a dentina, cemento, osso e osteodentina. A rizogênese incompleta pode ocorrer devido a um trauma ou por uma lesão cariosa levando a necrose pulpar. O hidróxido de cálcio tem ação antibacteriana e promove a ativação da fosfatase alcalina. Objetivos: O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar um caso clínico de apicificação devido a uma lesão cariosa que levou a necrose pulpar em um elemento com rizogênese incompleta. Material e método ou Conduta Clínica: Paciente sexo feminino, compareceu ao consultório com uma lesão cariosa no elemento 36, o teste de vitalidade pulpar teve um resultado negativo indicando necrose pulpar. Foi feito radiografia e observado rizogênese incompleta pois o ápice estava aberto, então foi indicado a apicificação. Foi feito a abertura coronária, isolamento absoluto com grampo W8A e colocação do hidróxido de cálcio no interior do canal radicular. A troca de hidróxido de cálcio foi feita de 30 a 30 dias durante 8 meses até observado que o ápice tinha fechado. Resultados: O procedimento foi obtido com sucesso, com um acompanhamento de até 8 meses foi observado o fechamento do ápice radicular, permitindo assim o tratamento endodôntico posteriormente. Conclusão: Portanto, a apicificação é um procedimento indicado nos casos de dentes com necrose pulpar com rizogênese incompleta, com o uso do hidróxido de cálcio permite o fechamento do ápice, possibilitando que o tratamento seja feito com êxito e assim consiga o resultado esperado para salvar o dente.
