- Abstract
The article focuses on the study which demonstrate the presence of Bartonella species in domestic cats inhabiting the Serra da Tiririca State Park (PESET) in Niterói, Brazil. It mentions prevalence of Bartonella among cats has been found and occurrence of this bacterium was demonstrated in one preservation and ecotourism area and immunosuppressed people should avoid contact with any unknown cat. It also mentions need to acquire bartonellosis to the host immune status.
