- Title
Condensed matter: How do your crystals grow?
- Authors
Billinge, Simon J. L.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the research regarding the formation of crystals through a series of unstable stages which supports Wilhelm Oswald's rules of stages. It notes that Oswald asserted that intermediate states form a cascade from least stable crystal form to the most stable. It outlines the modes by which the research was conducted including the study of recrystallization from amorphous state, electron diffraction, and images and diffraction patterns in lithium iron phosphate (LiFePo).
