- Title
Structural variation: the genome's hidden architecture.
- Authors
Baker, Monya
- Abstract
The article informs on several studies and experiments of structural variation in human genomes and chromosomes. It states the papers of Lupski and colleagues on Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and mentions the presence of an extra copy of the normal version of genes in the early 1990s. It states that autism, schizophrenia and Crohn's disease have been associated with structural variation. Structural variation will be achieved by technological shifts to additional methods according to Evan Eichler.
