Facilitating a midwifery book club.
- Authors
Chenery-Morris, Samantha
- Abstract
A midwifery student book club was set up at University Campus Suffolk (UCS) with the aim ofengaging students in alternative forms of literature relevant to their studies and to enhance their university experience. The book club was well attended by first and second year midwifery students, but less so by third years. There was evidence of informal student engagement with the lecturer through follow up emails about the meetings. Most of the books reviewed were enjoyed, but the responsibility of suggesting a book for their peers to review was deemed too much by some students.
