- Abstract
The article discusses a research on protein translocation through Sec complex in Escherichia coli. It references the study by T. J. Silhavy and colleagues which fused the signal sequence of LamB or maltose-induce porin to β-galactosidase (LacZ) to form LamB-LacZ and to show post-translational translocation of proteins. The study explores how Cpx two-component system can reduce the toxicity of LamB-LacZ fusion and examines the role of antibiotics in inhibiting protein translation.
