- Authors
FRANKLIN, MONICA J.
- Abstract
The article discusses the legal rights of older people in America and the reported confusion and frustration that is associated with applying for Social Security (SS) retirement benefits in the U.S. as of February 2014. Life expectancy, financial savings, and debt are addressed in relation to retirement planning. The U.S. Social Security Administration and a person's "full retirement age" are examined, along with the differences between the SS benefits received at ages 62 and 70.
