- Abstract
The article focuses on the different methods to promote the parent communication and involvement to the children's reading literacy in Illinois. Parents can promote a love of reading for Grade 5 students by setting a daily family reading time, giving books as gifts, and by playing word games. Grade 6-12 students can be motivated by giving free reading applications in their smartphones, playing online word games, and introducing graphic novels.
