- Abstract
The article discusses inventors and their patents in Korea during the 1920s and 1930s, part of the period of Japanese colonialism. Topics considered include the educational policies in Korea adopted by Japan which primarily saw Korea as an agricultural outpost for its empire, the cultural consensus among Koreans to embrace science and technology, and the influence of Western civilization on Korean society.
