Choking on Modernity: A Human Ecology of Air Pollution.
- Authors
York, Richard; Rosa, Eugene A.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the environmental aspects of ground-level air pollution. The authors discuss their analysis of cross-national time-series data from 1990 to 2000 in their assessment of the effects of the emission of ground-level air pollutants on the environment, including carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide. The authors explore the use of ecological theory in the analysis of the demographic effects on pollution emissions, including the average household size and the number of households.
