- Title
Excellence in Teaching.
- Abstract
The article discusses the new evaluation method called Excellence in Teaching which is tested by Chicago Public Schools system in 100 schools to measure a teacher's classroom performance, as well as producing constructive feedback from principals in Illinois. The purpose of the new program is to create a difference from good to bad teaching, an honest interaction between the teachers and the principals on how to make improvements, and a certification for teacher's conformance with a certain criteria. A checklist system is also presented in which researchers commented that more teachers would be named as low-performing under the new program.
