The article examines the early Chinese Madhymaka point of view of falseness. Topics discussed include the philosophical significance and soteriological revelance of linguistic strategies and textual pragmatics, the concept of emptiness, and the rhetorical function of contradiction and ambiguity. Also mentioned is an example of ambiguity from a text by Chinese Kumarajiva disciple Seng Zhao.
