- Abstract
The article titled "Editors' Pick in March 2024" from the Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society highlights two papers of interest. The first paper explores the neovascularization in the outer membrane of chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH) and its connection to the middle meningeal artery (MMA). The study suggests that embolization of the MMA can obstruct the blood supply to sinusoidal capillaries, potentially reducing the recurrence rate of cSDH. The second paper discusses the importance of the sacrotuberous ligament in the transgluteal approach for sciatic nerve entrapment in piriformis syndrome. The author found that additional division of the sacrotuberous ligament during surgery significantly improves the surgical outcome.
