- Abstract
The article examines the ways in which Russia's invasion of Ukraine has influenced the Kremlin's propaganda against Romania. For a year (24.02.2022 – 24.02.2023), the author followed the official positions of Russian politicians and diplomats, materials appearing in the most important state mass media, news distributed through social media and other, minor propaganda tools. The study revealed the main propaganda narratives directed against Romania, m.in "Romania wants to grab parts of Ukraine", "Romania wants to annex the Republic of Moldova and the Moldovan Republic of Transnistria", "Romania promotes unjustified Russophobic attitudes", "Romania is a 'Western colony' used in the US-Russian conflict". Attempts to discredit the aid provided to Ukraine by Romania were also shown. The author characterizes the image that Russian propaganda paints for its audience. It also shows how Moscow is using distorted media coverage of Romania to influence public opinion among the citizens of Ukraine and Moldova.
