- Abstract
The long-distance pipeline is characterized by linear project engineering, which involves a wide range of affected areas. The pipeline normally goes through the farmland, forest land, environmental sensitive area, highly populated area, river, etc. With the shutdown of a large number of long-distance oil and gas pipelines in China, the government attaches increasing importance to the safety and environmental protection. Besides, the demand for the disposal of scrapped long-distance pipelines is growing. However, there is currently no relevant systematic and scientific disposal system and standards in China. This paper analyzes the technical requirements for the disposal of a long-distance oil and gas pipeline in southwest area. The technical requirements for disposal of scrapped long-distance oil and gas pipelines mainly involve pipeline cleaning, dismantling, and keeping in-situ after plugging, etc. The pipeline cleaning mainly involves physical cleaning, chemical cleaning and residue concentration assessment, etc. The pipeline dismantling mainly considers the localized pipeline segments with scientific research value, and introduced the requirements of pipe segments, cutting, transportation and storage, etc. The pipeline plugging is the disposal method of discarding the pipeline in-situ with grouting and plugging, mainly for preventing rainwater from entering the pipeline and forming runoff after pipeline corrosion and perforation, destroying ecological balance or polluting the environment. This practice provides reference for the disposal of long-distance oil and gas pipelines of the same nature in the future.
