- Title
THE ANIMAL ENTERPRISE TERRORISM ACT: THE NEED FOR A WHISTLEBLOWER EXCEPTION.
- Authors
Hill, Michael
- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses the necessary exemption of whistleblowers under the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA) in the U.S. He contends that a literal reading of AETA terms may lead to the conclusion that AETA forbids specific whistleblowing acts. He notes the increasing number of cases due to food-safety-law and animal-cruelty violations through slaughterhouses, factory farms, and processing plants. He concludes that whistleblower restrictions may have various consequences.
