- Abstract
In the article "Dynamic Orientation Control of Gold Nanorods in Polymer Brushes by Their Thickness Changes for Plasmon Switching," Hideyuki Mitomo, Kuniharu Ijiro, and their colleagues discuss their research on gold nanorods and their ability to change orientation by altering the thickness of the polymer brush they are immobilized in. The researchers demonstrate that the nanorods can transition between horizontal, tilted, and vertical orientations on the substrate with polymers. This discovery has implications for the development of actively tunable arrays and surface plasmon resonance.
