- Title
Minjung (the Multitude), Historical Symbol of Jesus Christ.
- Authors
Kwon Jinkwan
- Abstract
The author suggests a theological understanding of minjung or multitude which helps people to view minjung as the historical symbol of Jesus Christ. He looks at minjung from socio-scientific, political, biblical, and symbolic and theological perspectives. He examines the three major theological symbols that would link minjung to Jesus, namely, the suffering messiah, the suffering servant and the ransom. He emphasizes the participation of the minjung in Jesus' destiny in his cross and resurrection.
