- Abstract
Football besides being a spoit that appeals wide audience, by its by developing financial structure, has also begun to be known as an industry. Due to most popular spoit on the world football, it brings the having a lot of revenue items. Football clubs transfer good and stalling players in order to increase their sportive achievements, profits, and their market value, the value of their stock certificate, and meet the expectations of their fans. Good players raise their own value in the football dynamics and this causes serious cost to the clubs. As a result of the cost and the expenses, these football clubs tiy to become successful and effective with the success in UEFA rankings, scores in their own league, average fan number per a match, broadcasting and market value, sponsorship, manufacture selling, hi this study, the financial and sportive achievement of 23 clubs in five biggest European and Turkish Super League between 2009-2014 is analyzed by using TOPSIS and Entropy with 6 quantitative criteria such as transfer expenses, UEFA scores, league scores, average fan number per a match, market value. The weights of the criteria are identified with Entropy method, and with the TOPSIS method, the rankings of the football clubs are obtained. According to the results, Arsenal took the first place in 2009-2010 season. Bavem Munich in 2010-2011 season. Real Madrid in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons, and Bayern Munich in 2013-2014 season. Furthermore. Barcelona football club took the second place in the last three seasons. From this ranking of success has been understood, analyses appointed the revenue and expenditure optimization as the most important criteria. Tlius, both high transfer spending is not always bring sporting success as well as disproportionate transfer spendings reduce the performance according to negative situation in term of sustainability.
