- Abstract
The aesthetic market grows increasingly in Brazil. The activity exerted by manicures and pedicures, however, has no only aesthetic character, once verified the relationship of this activity to health, hygiene and disease prevention. However, the professional involved in this type of activity have musculoskeletal complaints arise from factors such as postures, long working hours and inadequate furniture. Within this context, this article aims to analyze the musculoskeletal complaints perceived by professionals in the field of aesthetic (manicure and pedicure) in order to identify the main risks of physical activity. Thus, manicures and pedicures of a beautician center at Florianópolis-SC were evaluated. Were collected in addition to the socioeconomic data of the workers, the perceived musculoskeletal complaints that were associated with work activities from the application of RULA protocol and a body map discomfort. The results presented include a mapping of the activity, as well as the complaints reported by the professionals and the main physical activity risks. It is observed that the regions of the neck and trunk are the ones that can be considered as the most critical for the service to customers. On a secondary basis were observed the commitment of the regions of the arm, forearm and wrist.
