- Abstract
An essay is presented that examines interior design, painting and politics in late Weimar Germany. Particular focus is given to how this relates to the work of the writer Alfred Döblin. Additional topics discussed include Modernism and the avant-garde in Germany, the work of the Russian painter Pavel Filonov and Döblin's insights on the relationship between art and architecture.
