- Abstract
We start our day with brushing our teeth or cleaning them in some form or the other, and this is same with most ofthe people in both the developed and developing nations. But what we ignore is the type ofthe toothbrush we use or the constituents ofthe too-thpaste. We ignore whether what we are using is indicated for us or not or whether the constituents present in toothpaste can harm us in the long run. It has just become a routine habit in most ofthe cases. We purchase the oral hygiene products by looking at the attractive commercial. Oral hygiene products though medicinal, are available as over-the-counter products. So why are they not "prescribed" rather than "advertised"? Media can play a very vital role in drawing people towards dentists and can cause awa-reness in many respects.
