- Authors
Islam, A. S. M. Touhidul
- Abstract
This article explores the strategies used to attract and retain employees in the garment industry, with a focus on the experiences of Indian and Bangladeshi women workers. Contrary to negative perceptions, working in garment factories has improved the lives of many women by providing a stable income and better working conditions. The article emphasizes the challenges of high staff turnover in the industry and the importance of retaining employees. Through a case study approach, the study identifies key factors that motivate and retain workers, as well as attract new talent. The findings highlight the importance of factors such as convenient commuting, timely payment, a sense of belonging, and access to nearby schools for both existing and new workers. These insights can be used by garment companies to develop effective strategies for retaining and attracting employees.
