- Title
Gray Wolf Conservation at a Crossroads.
- Authors
Treves, Adrian; Bruskotter, Jeremy T.
- Abstract
In this article the authors discuss gray wolf conservation in the U.S. According to the authors, the U.S. federal government removed Endangered Species Act (ESA) protections for wolf populations in several states, including Montana, Idaho, and Washington, leaving most wolf populations in the U.S. classified as endangered. Three scenarios for wolf management are presented including reclassification of wolves as threatened, alternative federal protections, and delisting with a phased-in hunt.
