- Authors
Klein, Chris
- Abstract
The article discusses the financial crises across the world in 2008. It compares the financial crisis to a classical Greek tragedy which involved three phases of hubris, nemesis and catharsis, and states that gap between interest rates on inter-bank loans and short-term U.S. government debt widened to more than 18 times as compared to 2003 and better performance of the reinsurance industry during the financial crises as compared to the banking industry.
