- Abstract
The article addresses the role of work and workers in written and photographic recordings of the activities of the group American Canoe Association (ACA) in the U.S. and Canada from 1880 to 1910. Topics include class relations between middle-class canoeists and encampment workers, the roles of minority workers at the camps in relation to white canoeists, and the roles of domestic workers, carpenters, and cooks in maintaining camp life.
