- Abstract
An essay is presented on the economics of sin as part of the economics of religion, in which the sin is attached to three kinds of behavior. The behaviors include one violating the social norms, the context of habit formation and time inconsistency that impedes the maximization of personal well-being, and behaviors that threaten the market power of certain religious and cultural institutions. It explores the economic research related to the order and disorder in human choice and preferences.
