- Abstract
In Brazil, the Lei n° 5.692/1971 established the basis and guidelines to teaching the 1° and 2° degrees. For connecting the economical growth to education, the reformers made mandatory the professionalizing education on the 2° degree. In this article, it was mapped the academic production in stricto sensu post-graduation in regard to educational formation in 2° degree professionalizing courses (Magisterium Habilitation). Two repositories were used: the Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes) and the Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD). For the study selection, it was established the relevant criteria with the study object, prioritizing 4 works. The studies are in the History of Education field, contributing for the strengthening of Professional Education, though the authors do not highlight that aspect. Except for one, the researches correlate with the creation of the Lei n° 5.692/1971 to technicality, the theory of human capital and the United States influence in the Military Dictatorship. The professional formation for 1° degree teaching started to be done in the Magisterium Habilitation in 2° degree institutions, putting an end to the exclusivity of these courses offers in Normal Schools.
