- Title
Centering in Christ: The Mystery of Soul & Church in Saint Bernard’s Qui Habitat Sermons (Part 1).
- Authors
DOHERTY, M. J.
- Abstract
The article discusses the mystery of soul and church in saint Bernard's qui habitat sermons. It states that Saint Bernard shows how a monk who dwells "under the protection of the Most High" arrives at unity in himself, body and soul, and mentions that readers of the sermons readily perceive in them the unifying intimacy of grace, which is characteristic of monastic life. It notes the need of recognizing Bernard's sense of the monastic ecclesiola as a type of the Church.
