- Abstract
The article presents a review of thermal injuries reported to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Center for Devices and Radiologic Health (CDRH) through its MedWatch program, including a summary of possible mechanisms responsible for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging-related skin injuries. It provides a list of guidelines to help clinicians minimize MR imaging-related adverse events. It notes that it is the duty of MR technologists to keep the MR imaging environment safe and effective.
