- Title
DIE GEGENSEITIGE ABGRENZUNG DER NORD- UND SÜDNIEDERFRÄNKISCHEN DIALEKTE IN DER NIEDERLÄNDISCHEN PROVINZ LIMBURG.
- Authors
Bakker, Von Frens; van Hout, Roeland
- Abstract
The article discusses conflicting linguistic demarcations between the Northern and Southern Low Franconian dialects in the province of Limburg, Netherlands. The authors rely primarily on data collected by a linguistic geography survey known as the Schrijnen-van Ginneken-Verbeeten (SGV) survey, conducted in 1914. Topics considered include the use of the so-called Swadesh list of terms used in comparative linguistics for the purposes of dialectological research, mathematical methods in linguistics, and linguistic cluster analysis.
