- Abstract
The article discusses the clinical and histopathological characteristics of hereditary equine regional dermal asthenia (HERDA) in a quarter horse bred in Great Britain, complicated by the presence of eosinophilc dermatitis. Histopathological examination of punch biopsy of sections collected from the dorsum revealed areas of splitting of the deep dermis and fibrous hypodermis resulting in cavities lined by granulation tissue. The granulation tissue contained large numbers of eosinophils.
