- Abstract
The article discusses the clinical, laboratory, macroscopic and histopathological findings relating to an outbreak of hepatic encephalopathy consequent to accidental intoxication by aflatoxin in Piedmontese calves. The authors note the elevated concentrations of aflatoxin are highly associated with chronic aflatoxicosis and responsible for the clinical signs in the calves. The neurological signs described by the authors are caused by hepatic encephalopathy due to noxious action of the mycotoxin.
