- Title
CAWC considers the welfare aspects of selective breeding.
- Abstract
The article reports on the proposed welfare code being pushed by the Companion Animal Welfare Council of Great Britain which states that no one should breed companion animals without careful regard to characteristics that may jeopardize the health and welfare of the offspring or the female parent. The code was created to elevate awareness of the obligations for the welfare of companion animals and of the possible risks as a result of selective breeding.
