- Title
Sitting ducks.
- Abstract
The article comments on the dealings of Great Britain Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) in relation to avian influenza (AI). The Department maintained that the risk of the flu is relatively low despite its outbreak in some parts of Europe, which resulted to their castigations in the press. The author stressed that prompt identification of any AI in wild birds is needed and DEFRA should exert concrete efforts in preventing the AI spread in the poultry.
