- Title
OIE expresses concern about avian influenza in Turkey.
- Abstract
The article reports on the concern of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) about the evolution of the avian influenza outbreaks in Turkey. OIE has stated in the press release in January 10, 2006 that the bad weather in eastern Turkey builds technical interventions and favor the longer survival of the virus in the environment. IOE has also reported that as of January 8, 2006, a total of 13 outbreaks of H5 avian influenza has been confirmed by virus isolation in eight Turkish provinces.
