- Abstract
This paper aims to find evidence on whether and to what extent the recent crisis leaves a permanent or a long-lasting effect on the state of the economy for the EU28 countries and to investigate on the characteristics of the recovery process. The analysis is multivariate and the framework concentrates on a limited number of relevant variables in order to find evidence with regard to the evolutions in the EU28 economies in the aftermath of the crisis. An important issue is whether it is reasonable to expect a robust return of growth and how different this new path is in comparison to the pre-crisis levels. Additionally, an analysis is performed in order to find the way in which the EU28 countries behave relative to each other in the context of the crisis and its aftermath.
