- Abstract
A recent study published in the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology explores a new approach to myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS) using early post-injection stress-first single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging with cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) technology and attenuation correction. The study found that this approach significantly reduces imaging time without compromising diagnostic accuracy or image quality. The findings support the use of CZT nuclear cardiology techniques and highlight the potential benefits of early post-injection stress-first imaging in terms of patient convenience and resource utilization. However, the study's limitations include a small sample size and a lack of exploration of the added value of attenuation correction. Overall, the study contributes to the ongoing optimization of nuclear cardiology practices.
