- Abstract
The article details a study which examined the incidence of chemotherapy-induced amenorrhea (CIA) and the time to subsequent menstrual bleeding in premenopausal breast cancer patients who were treated with standard chemotherapy regimens. The study included 466 women who were 20 to 45 years at the time of diagnosis of stage I to III breast cancer, and were recruited between January 1998 and July 2002. Study authors found that a proportion of women who received chemotherapy will experience CIA, although many will regain their periods.
