The article discusses the objectives of the Bank of England's market scheme to purchase corporate bonds during the global financial crisis in Great Britain. It states that the scheme aimed to improve market liquidity to support the flow of credit to the corporate sector. It adds that in order to achieve the objective, price discovery and transparency must be improved through offering.
